Cosmic Energy Rising is a yoga mat created through a collaboration with Big Raven Yoga, a company dedicated to producing high quality yoga mats for comfort during your practice. The original handwoven piece was made to be 6 feet long by 2 feet wide — the exact dimensions of a Big Raven Yoga mat! It only made sense to give everyone an opportunity to experience this particularly meditative and energizing piece without weaving hundreds of individual yoga mats! :)
I wove this piece to create feelings of calmness and invigoration. I used favorite colors and textures and created a piece that brings together some of the most dynamic and difficult elements of textile art.

When I weave, I practice positivity, self acceptance, exploration, curiosity, and meditation.. just like I do when I practice yoga. Our brushed microfiber top is a proprietary blend of recycled polyester and nylon to help lessen our impact on the environment. By using recycled (and recyclable) materials, we’re reducing our use of energy, water, and greenhouse gases. In addition, our base is made from biodegradable, recyclable, 100% natural tree rubber which provides both excellent cushion and great traction for wet floors.
Our microfiber surface provides more grip the wetter it gets, making it the perfect companion for intense exercise regimes — you’ll never need a towel over your yoga mat again! It’s thick enough to keep your knees happy but light enough to take with you on the go.
Our mats are nearly indestructible. No matter what you do to them they’ll continue to look and perform like new for years to come. (We know this from experience. We WANT to treat our mats the way they deserve to be treated, but we never actually do.)
Hose it down or machine wash on cold and hang to dry for a long, colorful life. For maximum grip, lightly spray with water before beginning your practice.
